About the Book

This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. Naomi Hertz has an opportunity to show great resilience in the face of adversity. She knows her enemies' secrets and works toward finding the strength to overcome her nightmare: issues dealing with abuse, adultery, and addiction. We learn what fuels violence, bullying, and hate. In her relationship with David Milano (whom she marries), she takes an optimistic stand against oppression. This book helps find solutions by building awareness, skills, and knowledge. It works toward a movement to empower those who dare to ASK, bringing forth transformational change - a metamorphosis.

About the Authors

SHIRLEY HESS holds a BA in psychology from Baruch College, New York, and is completing her MA in marriage and family therapy. Her experience working at a domestic violence shelter and with underprivileged youth has been life changing. Humbled by her own personal experiences with violence, she works toward a movement to empower those who dare to ASK (awareness, skills, knowledge) to bring forth the transformational change in a person. She believes that through self-improvement and belief in oneself, one can achieve the highest potential.

ERNEST BERLIN is the author of THE RISING SUN, a poetry collection, and THE WALL STREET EXECUTIVE, a novel. He holds a BA in German literature and linguistics and attended the Graduate School and University Center in New York, studying toward an MA. He is also a graduate of a creative writing course and received his poet laureate certificate, graduating from a poetic expression program.
